Poppleton Road Primary School - National Emergency Briefing Showing

Join us for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing, hosted by Poppleton Road Primary School & The Friends of Poppy Road.

Doors 6pm, with the film to start at 6.15pm.

The People's Emergency Briefing is an eye-opening film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like:

🌧️ Extreme weather
🍞 Food security
🏥 Health
💷 Cost of living

The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing that took place in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with narrator Chris Packham and appearances from Deborah Meaden, Jennifer Saunders and a range of voices from across the UK.

After the film we will hold a discussion about what this might mean for us in Acomb and in York, and most importantly -  what it means for our children, young people and school staff and how we can respond together, as a climate-resilient community, to future challenges.

The event is intended to be a positive and proactive evening where the community comes together.  Given the nature of the topic, this event is open to those age 16 and over only.  Useful resources for speaking to our children and young people about climate change will be available on the evening. 

Refreshments will be available on the evening, with funds raised going to support the school's new Forest School.
