Workshop: Collage with Matt Ponting of Doodling Around

About this event

Discover nature, plants, and the air we share through collage. Led by Matt Ponting, on a short walk leaves will be drawn and gathered, exploring their shapes, colours, and stories. Bright collaged artworks will be made from these which reflect the impact of the air and sound pollution on the plants around us and what that means for our health.

Suitable for all the family, children to be accompanied by parent or guardian. 

About Matt Ponting

Newham-based Conversationist and Community Artist Matt Ponting uses art to make green spaces and urban environments accessible for all, and his artwork is centred on local discovery and exploration, of nature, heritage and community.

As well as transforming East Ham Nature Reserve with hand painted murals and welcoming colourful signs, he recently illustrated a set of signs along the Greenway, in partnership with nature trusts, local schools and residents, and created the public artwork for the Newham Covid Memorial Garden.

Access

The Nunnery Gallery has step-free access throughout from street level, including to the accessible toilet, and is service animal friendly. This venue does not have a hearing loop system. Accessible parking is not available on-site but blue badge parking can be found 500m away on Fairfield Road.
