About the Performance
The Korean Traditional Music Orchestra of the Blind (KTMOB) brings to life the timeless beauty of Korea’s traditional sounds, performed by extraordinary musicians who are visually impaired. With their mastery of instruments such as the Gayageum, Geomungo, and Piri, they continue a legacy that traces back to the Joseon Dynasty, when blind musicians were specially trained to serve in the royal palace’s Music Department.
With the support of Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Siloam Center for the Blind, the orchestra was re-established as a modern ensemble. Today, KTMOB provides meaningful careers for visually impaired artists while inspiring audiences around the world with performances that blend history, resilience, and artistry.
