Join Korean Connection and Friends of Korea for the Friends of Korea: K-Connect Networking Event on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 1:00–3:00 PM at the Kroc Center in Grand Rapids.

This brings together individuals, organizations, community leaders, businesses, and cultural enthusiasts who share an interest in Korea and a desire to strengthen connections between Korea, the United States, and West Michigan.

Sponsored by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chicago and Grand Rapids Sister Cities International - Gangnam-Gu, and initiated with the support of David Roden, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea, this year’s K-Connect Networking Event continues the Friends of Korea tradition in West Michigan, hosted by Korean Connection. The event will feature live performances, educational presentations, cultural experiences, and networking opportunities.

🎶 Live Performances

Enjoy Korean culture through performances by Pure Ensemble Michigan, a youth orchestra, and a dynamic Taekwondo demonstration led by Master Russell Williams (4th Dan). 

🎤 Guest Speakers & Educational Sessions

Learn about Korean public policy and culture through a presentation from the Consulate General of Korea, and gain a deeper understanding of the Korean War through the stories and experiences of Korean War veterans through Rami Hyun from Project Soldier.

📸Cultural Celebration: Hanbok Day

In celebration of Hanbok Day on October 21, guests of all ages are invited to experience Korean culture through a variety of interactive activities.

Try on a hanbok (traditional Korean dress) and capture the moment at our photo booth. Children can enjoy Korean crafts and hands-on activities, while guests can sample Korean food and snacks and connect with fellow Friends of Korea.
