In Manannán and Beyond we will explore the lord of the sea and the otherworld in His many manifestations in myth, folklore and the landscape.
Topics will include:
- Manannán as a wise counsellor
- His importance in the Isle of Man
- Whether we should really call Him a 'trickster'
- Manawydan fab Llŷr
- His children and foster-children
- The lands of Manaw in Scotland
- Manannán in the otherworld

What to expect from this class
Weekly online class on Zoom includes: my presentations, Q&A sessions, moderated discussions. Classes usually last around 90 minutes.
Homework: There is quite a bit of reading for this class. You will receive a study guide in early May which will include a list of texts for each week. All reading can be found online, and your study guide will include the links you need to access it.
