This class is about re-telling Celtic myths - whether that's in the form of:
- a short story
- poetry
- a readable paraphrase of a translated text
- live storytelling for adults or children,
- narration for film
Opportunities to try new things and improve what you're currently doing. Let's keep our stories alive!
Who is this class for? This class is a good fit for anyone who has dabbled with creative writing and/or public "performance" in the broadest sense (including teaching). The desire to pass on the stories found in Celtic mythology is equally important.
Participants will have a chance to explore the delivery methods listed above, while also working on a main personal project. Please come to this class with an open and courageous heart, and a willingness to accept and share constructive suggestions with your classmates.
My aim will be to make sure that our work is:
- Ethical, honourable, and respectful toward the culture of origin
- Communicates well to our audience
- Enjoyable
- Joyful work for us
This class requires participation. Please plan to attend the online sessions.
What this class is not: This is not the right class if you are seeking to exploit Celtic mythology and folklore to create works of fiction. If you're not sure what I'm getting at, this might help.
