Feldenkrais - Carriage of the Head 23 Aug 2026

How do you find support from the ground to carry your head gracefully, elegantly, easily?

A Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement deep-dive workshop. Our heads are heavy and our contact with the ground through our feet small and unstable. The more precise we are with moment by moment organisation of ourselves above our base of support, the lighter our head becomes as we walk, run, dance...

The cervical spine consists of seven small, delicate vertebrae with a lot of movement potential. When we find roots for the neck deeper down the spine, in the pelvis and on down through the legs to the feet, we liberate the neck and enable softer, easier, more comfortable mobility here and in the shoulder girdle. Light-headed will take on a new meaning!

You will be led verbally through a movement patterns, or puzzles, and invited to attune to what you sense. You will be asked to notice different places and their relationship to the whole. Often the impossible becomes possible, and the possible easy in the course of the afternoon!

You should wear loose, warm clothing - large mats provided. Recordings of class provided. There will be a break with tea and biscuits/dried fruit!

It is possible to join online - please buy an online ticket at the checkout.
