Feldenkrais - Ribs & Breathing 4 October 2026

Sun 4 Oct 2026 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM 20 St Martins Close, CT1 1QG

Discover new flexibility and possibility in your rib cage - or rather rib basket - let's make the image of it more supple. Find out how to access greater lung capacity and how this influences your movement, ease and sense of wellbeing for the better.

A Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement deep-dive workshop. We breathe constantly and mostly inefficiently - by slowing down to explore and taste the nuances in the movement of our ribs, sternum, spine and diaphragms, we benefit in our general functioning, movement and in our ability to find emotional regulation.

12 ribs - some floating, some attached to the breast bone indirectly and some directly, all articulated with the spine - learn to know yourself through experiential anatomy.

You will be led verbally through a movement patterns, or puzzles, and invited to attune to what you sense. You will be asked to notice different places and their relationship to the whole. Often the impossible becomes possible, and the possible easy in the course of the afternoon!

You should wear loose, warm clothing - large mats provided. There will be a break with tea and biscuits/dried fruit!

It is possible to join the workshop online - please buy an online ticket at the checkout.

All participants will receive audio recordings of the workshop.
