The Disciple-Making Lab is a two-day event run by Kairos Connexion and GEM (Greater European Mission) in partnership with Jeff Vanderstelt, executive director and founder of Saturate.

Saturate seeks to equip the Church, God’s people, to make Jesus known in the places we live, work, learn, and play so that every woman, man, and child would have repeated opportunities to meet Jesus.

The Disciple-Making Lab leads to each church represented creating their own bespoke contextualised disciple-making pathway, where disciples who make disciples are formed.

At the Lab, which will be held in the Liverpool City Region, your team will:

• Clarify and unify around your shared definition of a disciple.
• Cultivate a church-wide culture for disciple making.
• Design, build, and implement a disciple-making pathway for your church.
• Create tools, strategies, and processes to equip everyday disciples in your church.

James Earnshaw, leader of City Church Liverpool, attended our inaugural DML in June 2026. He said: "As a pastor, I know that one of my main responsibilities is to make disciples who go on to make disciples, but knowing how to build that into the life of a whole church is a real challenge. 

"I have never felt that I have done this particularly effectively, nor have I often seen it modelled clearly, which is why the depth of the Disciple Making Lab and the experience Jeff and his team bring is so exciting. We are only a quarter of the way through, but our church leadership is already deeply encouraged by what God is showing us through the process."

The two-day event is the first step in a 10-month journey, followed by monthly, three-hour Zoom sessions packed full of teaching, guided reflection, exercises, discussion, and more.

Day 1, Monday January 18th 2027: 7pm to 9:30pm (doors open 6:30pm)

Day 2, Tuesday January 19th 2027: 9am to 9pm (doors open 8:30am; dinner break 5pm to 6:30pm)

The second in-person lab will be later in the year, from Friday May 21st to Saturday May 22nd. Both days are likely to run from 9am to 5pm.

The main speakers at the Disciple Making Lab are:

Jeff Vanderstelt

Jeff serves as the Executive Director of Saturate. He is also the Founder of Soma, a global family of churches committed to seeing every woman, man and child meet Jesus through His body on mission everyday. He regularly works with teams toward gospel saturation in greater Seattle, Charleston, and Tokyo. He also serves as an emotional health coach for Tin Man Ministries. Jeff has authored Saturate, Gospel Fluency, and Making Space.

He lives in Seattle, WA with his wife Jayne and their three children.

Brett Donald

Brett has been in church leadership as a pastor, church planter, and occasional coach and professor for over 20 years. He is passionate about helping ordinary people join Jesus in His mission, seeing a growing convergence of Word and Spirit, and strategic disciple-making.

Brett is a founding pastor of CityLights Church in Vancouver, B.C., and is currently church planting again. He loves the ocean, good coffee, and time with his wife Natalie and two children.

Nic Harding leads Kairos Connexion's City Reaching stream and is also the director of Together for the Harvest in the Liverpool City Region.

Pricing

The cost of this training in the USA is £7500 per team. However, in order to make this affordable for churches, Saturate are offering the training at a 90% discount of £750 per team.

Please note that your ticket price covers both events plus eight online sessions in between.

If you feel you could afford to pay more than £750, please select the 75% discount price (£1875) or the 50% discount price (£3750). If you would like to give more than the £750, we would urge you to reach out to potential donors and sponsors within your church network, as this course would significantly benefit the whole church and community – not just its leaders.

Each team should be between three and six people in size and your ticket price covers all team members.
