Live at Lab - Ambre Ciel

Ambre Ciel is a Montreal-born composer, violinist, pianist and singer whose music moves between contemporary classical textures and spacious pop. Singing in both French and English, she builds songs from layered violin, piano and voice, creating what she describes as “music that breathes.”

Her debut album still, there is the sea was born from a period of solitude and silence. Moving into a quiet apartment for the first time, she found the space to explore sound, repetition and fluidity. Water became a recurring image throughout the record — waves, mirrors, storms, cycles — shaping music that feels fragile yet constantly in motion.

Blending impressionist harmony with minimalist structures, her work offers an intimate listening experience: reflective, open and emotionally precise.

This is music created as a response to the world, seeking beauty, stillness and depth.
