In Conversation with  Tom Hayes MP, National Energy Mission Champion

Join Labour’s National Energy Mission Champion, Tom Hayes MP, in conversation with Labour Business’s Greg Williams, for a deep dive into many of the energy and climate change related issues that are helping define this Labour government.

In this session, Greg will put to Tom the key questions both business and the Labour movement are asking about the government’s clean energy plans. We’ll also discuss some of the recommendations from the Committee on Climate Change’s seventh carbon budget. And there will be plenty of time for questions from the floor.

Before becoming an MP in 2024, Tom was deputy leader of Oxford City Council, where he oversaw a programme to reduce emissions city wide, and implement five yearly carbon budgets. Since being elected Tom has championed some of the more difficult net zero causes, such as supporting electricity pylons instead of underground transmission cables.
