Fish in a Kettle

It's 2050. The party has already started. 

This is the Ocean’s party. Fish, people and everything in between are on the guest list. No one knows how long it’s been going on. No one remembers why it all began. By now, anything is possible: Liverpool is boiling, Liverpool is cooling, or Liverpool is slowly sinking into the sea. 

In this new, original show from Lab Rats Collective, step inside a series of shifting prophecies as we surface what is probable and what is possible. This strange and playful experience floats between theatre, scientific research, the voices of Merseyside, as well as our darkest imaginings and most hopeful dreams.

This is an immersive performance: you’ll move freely through the space, choosing where to go and who to follow. You can get close to the action or hang back and observe. There’s no single path through the experience.

The bar will be open before the show, so arrive early, get a drink, and settle into the atmosphere before stepping inside the party.

One night.

One party.

One ocean.

Practical things to note:

• Address: 3 Constance St, Liverpool L3 8AN
• Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your the show. Our team will welcome you on arrival and guide you into the space. Late comers may not be admitted.
• There will be a bar open before the performance, so feel free to arrive early, get a drink, and settle into the atmosphere before entering the party.
• Fish in a Kettle is an immersive, promenade performance. This means you’ll move freely through the space, choosing where to go and who to follow. There’s no single path through the experience, and you’re free to explore at your own pace.
• The experience is standing and moving throughout, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
• If you have any access requirements or concerns, please get in touch in advance. We will do our best to make the experience work for you.
• You may find yourself separated from your group at times - don't panic, this is part of the experience, but you’ll always be able to find each other again.
• We ask that mobile phones are kept off during the performance to help maintain the atmosphere. You’re welcome to use them in the bar area.
• Age guidance: 16+
  Anyone under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.
• Content guidance:
  This performance includes close proximity to performers and explores themes of climate crisis, environmental change, and shifting futures, aswell as references to violence, miscarriage and bodily harm. Some moments may feel intense or disorienting. You are always free to step away from any interaction.
