Lacuna is a modern folk trio known for its catchy, folky original songs, thoughtful lyrics, intricate three-part vocal harmonies and the less usual (in folk circles) blend of banjo, clarinet and guitar. Join us for an evening of original songs sharing the poetry hidden in everyday spaces - stories of people, places and the journey through life.

A ‘lacuna’ is an unfilled space or gap and the name reflects the band’s origins. The band members Jo Taylor, Sarah Jane Rimmer and Malcolm Thacker all emerged from the Covid pandemic with a musical space in their lives. A chance meeting at a folk music festival brought Jo, Sarah Jane and Malcolm together and the space was filled.

Lacuna have been playing together since 2021 and regularly gig at local festivals and in folk clubs, pubs, and community spaces in London and Surrey.
