Do you ever think,
“I’d love to learn about that, if only I had the time…”?

Study Days, specially crafted days of learning, are here to help!

Green Software Practitioner Study Day is an interdisciplinary opportunity to study together. The day is composed of planned study blocks for the Green Software Practitioner Certificate (Green Software Foundation).

The study blocks are intermixed with discussions about how to ‘green’ our respective roles by working together. A sustainable lunch, snacks, soft drinks, teas and coffees are included. At the end of the day you will walk away with your certification and a sense that you too can make change!

What an attendee said:
“…being able to be in a friendly location with a group of people interested in the same subject matter especially was incredibly, encouraging and helped a lot…I would've otherwise just spoken about it for ages but not actually managed to execute”

This event is jointly run by LTUX Brighton and Green Software Brighton.

So, what's in it for me?

  • A certification by the end of the day!
  • Reserved time for learning away from your usual desk
  • Learning in the company of others
  • Breaks where we have interdisciplinary conversations about how we can work together to make greener digital products
  • Lunch with interesting people you might not otherwise meet

Who can come?

This event is ideal for UXers, content people, developers, cloud architects, SEOs, founders, and team leads.
Teams are encouraged to attend together.

The content is not super technical, although it does help to have a few years of on-the-job experience. For those less experienced, pre-reading of the course may help (freely available at the Green Software Movement site here).

This event is open to all folks, of all gender identities.

Where is it?

We are delighted to be hosted by Plus X Brighton, which is in Moulsecoomb near the University of Brighton's main campus. Please check out their website and their amazing workspaces.

This is an accessible venue.

How much will it be?

  • The ticket price has been reduced to £12 to cover materials. Our sponsor, Ann Danylkiw has kindly covered drinks and snacks. Plus X are our brilliant hosts.
  • If cost is a barrier - please let us know at: brightonladiesthatux@gmail.com

Please note: we've had to cancel our lunch buffet due to low ticket sales for this event. We encourage you to go downstairs to Café Domenica for lunch or feel free to bring your own packed lunch.
