This special evening is a celebration of Scottish culture, bringing together live performances, heartfelt storytelling, poetry, and a traditional ceilidh to round off the night!

Alistair Heather is a Scottish writer, broadcaster, and passionate advocate for the Scots language. Known for his work with BBC Scotland, BBC Radio 4 and The National, he brings Scotland’s heritage to life through storytelling, documentaries, and cultural events. He has also hosted the Big Burns Supper and co-created The Lantern Scottish Poetry Podcast, celebrating Scotland’s literary voices.
Claire Hastings is an award-winning Scottish folksinger, songwriter, and ukulele player, crowned BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2015. She has toured internationally, performing at festivals like Celtic Connections and BBC Proms in the Park. With acclaimed albums like Those Who Roam, Claire blends traditional and contemporary folk storytelling. She is also a passionate music educator, leading workshops across Scotland. Rose Byers is an award-winning Scottish singer and fiddler, celebrated for her passion for Scots song and the works of Robert Burns. She has performed at prestigious venues, including the Scottish Parliament and Celtic Connections. In 2021, Rose won a Creative Scotland competition to record her first single. She is currently pursuing a degree in Traditional Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Seth Byers, Rose’s brother, is a talented young musician. He has been recognised as the best primary singer and instrumentalist at the Dumfries & Galloway Burns Association Schools Competition
Together, Rose and Seth bring a rich blend of vocal and instrumental prowess to their performances, celebrating Scotland’s musical heritage.

After dinner, take to the dance floor for a traditional ceilidh, called by Alistair Heather, ensuring a lively and unforgettable conclusion to the night.
