LA GUAGUA 47 IN CONCERT

An evening of music, storytelling, and celebration featuring selections from La Guagua 47 - a new bilingual musical by Alba Martínez, heading to its world premiere at Philadelphia Theatre Company in the 2027-28 season.

La Guagua 47 tells the story of Lucía, a 15-year-old artist from Jayuya, Puerto Rico, forced to leave everything she knows and move to Philadelphia after her father loses his job at the town's pharmaceutical plant. Determined to return home, she sets out to find a ticket back to the island. She finds the 47 bus instead.

This concert brings La Guagua 47 directly into the Latino community that inspired it, with a professional cast, the La Guagua 47 Community Chorus, and a live band.

Everybody gets on. Fulton Bank, FINANTA, and Taller Puertorriqueño make free admission possible. The other three levels aren't ticket prices - they're ways to join us and make the next concert possible.

Una noche de música, historias y celebración con selecciones de La Guagua 47 - un nuevo musical bilingüe de Alba Martínez, camino a su estreno mundial en Philadelphia Theatre Company en la temporada 2027-28.

La Guagua 47 cuenta la historia de Lucía, una artista de quince años de Jayuya, Puerto Rico, obligada a dejar todo lo que conoce y mudarse a Filadelfia cuando su papá pierde su trabajo en la farmacéutica del pueblo. Decidida a regresar, sale a buscar un pasaje de vuelta a la isla. Se encuentra con la guagua 47.

Este concierto lleva La Guagua 47 directamente a la comunidad latina que lo inspiró, con elenco profesional, el Coro Comunitario de La Guagua 47, y banda en vivo.

Todos suben. Fulton Bank, FINANTA y Taller Puertorriqueño hacen posible la entrada gratis. Los otros tres niveles no son precios - son formas de acompañarnos y hacer posible el próximo concierto.
