Yemanjo is a project of producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist Ben Harris. Raised in the rich culture of California’s Bay Area, Harris’ work is influenced by the global music styles he has encountered through extensive world travels.

Yemanjo’s sound is a unique fusion of downtempo and organic house beats with traditional sounds from Latin America, Africa and the Middle East. The previous five years have seen Yemanjo touring the world while releasing prolifically with top labels in the genre such as Cosmic Awakenings and Cafe de Anatolia. His full-length album for Wonderwheel Recordings will be released on 10th May 2024.

In performance, Yemanjo combines his original music with live singing in many languages, trumpet, percussion and other instruments in an electro-acoustic live set. Yemanjo also offers hybrid DJ sets with live instrumentation, bringing a refreshing sonic diversity and decades of experience as a dynamic live performer and frontman.

Bisi is a Nigerian world music fusion artist using his sound as an intersection for movement and philosophy. He is a globetrotting performer, dancer, explorer, and songwriter. Bisi brings a unique presence to the stage whether he is performing live original tracks on guitar or singing over his Afropop/ Afrohouse beats. The melodies and rhythms captivate his audience on the dance floor or accompany a space as the soundtrack to your activity.

Bisi continues to play a variety of covers on guitar, from pop to global sounds. His folk sensibilities combined with his Yoruba roots have produced records like Not Tday, Home & Lovaboat. You can find Bisi musing crowds at his shows or on the internet. 

He works with Glide Memorial Church which has given Bisi access to a powerful platform to build and uplift the community through art and a commitment to social justice. Bisi is known for his warmth, unrelenting work ethic, incredible talent and adaptability, and mutual reverence for young folks.

Description: Afro-Fusion at its finest: Join for an uplifting and dynamic Grooves dance workshop designed to explore, integrate, and celebrate the vast and dynamic movements, expressions, and techniques across dance traditions from the African Diaspora and beyond! Bringing together traditional and contemporary styles from South Africa, West Africa, Brazil, Cuba and club culture into one beautiful and powerful flow. Expect sweat, smiles, and serious beats as we create collective dance floor magic.
This workshop will center on technique, stamina, and your own groove, with movements emphasizing power, celebration, and release, carried by the deepest sounds of AfroHouse! Designed for all levels, Deep Grooves is a community movement where all are welcome.
