Need help?
Have you ever wondered why your toaster or DVD player just stopped working? Don’t know where to begin? Come to our troubleshooting workshop and learn some simple steps to solving the mystery of broken stuff. This workshop will go through the logical process of troubleshooting, which is a method for determining what caused your electrical or electronic equipment to break.
Bring a small home appliance or home electronic equipment that has broken to practice the troubleshooting method. If you don’t have a broken item, we’ll supply one!
The Repair Skills workshop is led by Paul Madger, one of the co-founders of Repair Café Toronto! Repair Café Toronto is a volunteer group traveling around the city putting on repair events on a monthly basis. Their volunteers help members of the community fix their broken things for free.
About the Instructor:
Paul Magder is a retired Electronics Technologist. He worked for 27 years in manufacturing. The last 20 years of his career was involved in designing, building and selling electronic test equipment.
In 2013, Paul started Repair Café Toronto with two other co-founders, Fern Mosoff and Wai Chu Cheng. Repair Café Toronto is made up of volunteers who enjoy fixing all kinds of broken things. They travel around the city putting on events where people can bring their broken items and learn how to fix them. Each event provides volunteers who can fix everything from computers to clothing; from small appliances to jewellery. As well, there is always a variety of refreshments and wonderful conversations. All for free.
