LancsCAN Lunch & Learn - Travel
Need help?
Active and sustainable travel, such as walking, cycling, public transport, and using electric vehicles, is crucial for climate action. These modes of transport reduce greenhouse gas emissions by decreasing reliance on fossil fuels. Promoting active travel helps lower air pollution, mitigate climate change, and enhance public health. Sustainable travel encourages eco-friendly infrastructure and urban planning, supporting environmental conservation and creating livable, resilient cities for future generations.
Join us for the fourth of our online 'Lunch & learn' sessions for the Lancashire Climate Action Network (LancsCAN), where we'll hear from active and sustainable travel projects across Lancashire. Our speakers are: Dave Savage from Community Rail Lancashire, who are encourgaing people to use their local rail services through community rail partnerships, and promoting the history, heritage and communities of our reailways. Julie Ridley is from Preston Pedals, a Climate Action Preston project, which promotes a culture of everyday cycling for health and wellbeing, as well as tackling climate change.
As always there will be opportunities for Q&A, and for networking and sharing your news at the end of the presentations.
The aim of these events is to allow members to showcase what they’re doing, spread the word about upcoming opportunities, and support peer-to-peer learning. We also hope they will strengthen the network through interaction and help build the LancsCAN community.
