Listening to the Land @ ORFC
Real Farming Trust (RFT), Conscious Food Systems Alliance (CoFSA) and Animate Earth invite you to a day of discussion, talks and ceremony.
What does it mean to Listen to the Land? How can we nurture a more reciprocal relationship with the natural world? As farmers, growers, activists and supporters of the agroecological movement, we often experience and are motivated by a heart-felt or sacred connection to the land. Yet finding ways to express this or to bring it into our day-to-day work can be challenging.
Over the last five years, the Real Farming Trust has worked with partners to make these questions more visible within the movement. We have held ORFC sessions on traditional or indigenous knowledge systems, farming practices based on an intuitive or reciprocal relationship with the land and hosted larger discussions that acknowledge land as having its own agency or sovereignty. We have also explored the inner capacities (e.g., mindsets; values; cognitive, emotional and relational skills) we can develop to support the systemic change we want to see across the food system.
Please come and join us - the day before the conference - to explore these ideas further and hear from others who are working in this space. This will also be an opportunity to welcome and share knowledge with indigenous elders and other speakers who are coming to the ORFC in a more relaxed setting.
This is also a unique opportunity to come together as a smaller group to find support from others who share similar belief systems so we can look for new ways to progress the agroecological movement.
