CATCH A SWOOP OF SWIFTS

Though there are several swifts native to North America only one can be spotted east of the Rocky Mountains - the chimney swift (Chaetura pelagica). In Philadelphia they can be spotted by the hundreds diving into our chimneys during the fall migration. If you can find the right chimney, this nightly descent is truly a wonder to behold.
