Lecture: “The Discovery of the Soulard Stones; How Historic Maps and Modern Surveying Equipment Led to the Discovery of 18th Century Survey Markers”
Join Dr. Ryan Johnston for an in-depth presentation about the survey conducted by the Survey General of Upper Louisiana, Antoine Soulard on December 14, 1799, as well as the recent discovery of two stone markers associated with that survey. This Spanish land grant was given to the Commandant of New Bourbon, Pierre DeLassus DeLuzieres in 1795 and was the first land grant in the area that would become Farmington, MO.

With assistance from the Regional Arts Commission, all lectures are FREE. Lectures are on Wednesdays, but times vary between midday and evening. Space is limited; Each lecture requires its own reservation.
