SKGR - Skinningrove Roman Day

The Romans occupy Land of Iron for a day of exciting activities and workshops straight from the empire!

• Create your own Legionnaire’s Shield and learn the cultural significance behind the imagery and colours used in their uniforms.
• Dig up Roman Artefacts in our tabletop archaeology club and see how archaeologists identify and preserve these amazing finds.
• Sculpt it like the Romans did in our pottery workshop, where you can hand craft your very own oil lamp – just don’t take it down the mine!
• See if you have what it takes to join the Roman Army with our Drill Practice and Battle Training!

With plenty to see and even more to do, you’ll be able to enjoy a day’s worth of Roman activities and take home the things you’ve made!

Tickets are available online or in-house. We encourage visitors to purchase their tickets in advance, as we cannot guarantee resources for activities will be readily available later in the day.

Tickets are £10 – adults get in for free, but if you would like to make your own shield or pot a donation would be appreciated!

We will be running activities from 10:00am to 3:30pm
