Beyond Soul Mates: The Ruh, The Nafs & Human Relationships
with Mohsin Hashmi | Hosted online | Saturday 25th July | 8-10pm UK time
Some people enter our lives and feel instantly familiar. Others leave a lasting mark, even in silence. What is it about these connections that goes deeper than words, deeper than time?
Soul Mates is a reflective and eye-opening session exploring the Islamic understanding of the soul and how it shapes the way we relate, bond and journey through life with others. Drawing on classical texts and the growing field of Islamic Psychology, Mohsin Hashmi will take us through the soul’s pre-earthly origins and how its nature influences everything from deep friendships to lifelong partnerships.
Four key areas will be explored:
- Understanding the Soul and Self - al-Rūḥ & al-Nafs
- The Types of Nafs and the Mates they Attract
- Critiquing the Modern, Western narrative of Soul Mates
- The concept of multiple Soul Mates
Whether you’re in a season of connection, solitude, healing or seeking, this session is an invitation to reflect on the spiritual fabric of your relationships—and the One who brings souls together.
Open to both men and women | Suitable for age 16+.
