Steve Diggle (Buzzcocks) LIVE IN CONVERSATION with Paul and Steve Hanley - Oh Brother! Podcast LIVE

The acclaimed Oh Brother podcast comes to The Horse + Bamboo Theatre for a special live edition, featuring an in‑conversation event with Steve Diggle, of the Buzzcocks.

Presented by brothers Paul Hanley and Steve Hanley — former rhythm section of one of Britain’s most influential post‑punk bands, The FallOh Brother offers rare insight, sharp wit, and first‑hand stories from inside a group that helped define an era. The Hanleys bring their deep musical knowledge and lived experience to conversations with musicians, collaborators, and fans from across the cultural spectrum.

This live event promises to be particularly special. Paul Hanley is the author of  Sixteen Again, his definitive study of Buzzcocks, which combines biography, interview, critique, and social history to fully explain Buzzcocks’ unique and enduring appeal. Steve Diggle has recently published his memoir Autonomy — a deeply personal account of life, loss and longevity at the heart of one of punk’s most important bands.

Diggle, the singer, guitarist, and last remaining original Buzzcock, brings first‑hand insight into the band’s journey from supporting the Sex Pistols in 1976 and releasing the self‑funded Spiral Scratch EP, through chart success as the so‑called “punk Beatles”, to break‑ups, reformations, and life beyond the death of Pete Shelley in 2018. Alongside classics such as ‘Ever Fallen In Love’ and ‘Everybody’s Happy Nowadays’, Diggle’s own songs — including ‘Harmony In My Head’ and ‘Promises’ — remain central to the band’s legacy.

Expect an intimate evening of candid conversation and behind-the-scenes anecdotes at The Horse + Bamboo theatre in Waterfoot, Rossendale.
