An Enchanting Evening of Regency Dance, Music, and Autumn Cheer!

Revel in the rich colours and warmth of Autumn with the elegance of the Regency era at Laughing With Lizzie’s A Ball for All Seasons: Autumntide. Enjoy an unforgettable evening of graceful dancing, beautiful live music, and a sumptuous buffet — all set within the historic Purley Barn, Reading.

Both new and experienced dancers are warmly welcome, and Regency dress is strongly encouraged to enhance the atmosphere (though not compulsory).

🕯️ Doors open at 6:00pm, giving you time to arrive, settle in, and enjoy a sparkling welcome drink before the dancing begins. The ball will start promptly at 6:30pm, so arriving early ensures you make the most of the evening.

💃 Regency Dances with Libby Curzon

Join Libby Curzon of Mrs Bennet’s Ballroom as she leads you through the charm and elegance of Regency dances. Whether you are an experienced dancer or stepping onto the floor for the first time, Libby’s guidance ensures everyone feels confident as you dance the night away in true Austen style.

🎻 Live Cello Music by Florence Petit-Sibley

Enjoy beautiful live cello music throughout the evening, adding warmth, elegance, and atmosphere to the dancing and celebrations.

🎨 Live Illustrations by Charlotte Atkinson

Charlotte Atkinson will once again be joining us on the evening, creating beautiful live watercolour illustrations available to purchase at an additional cost of £20.

Due to time constraints, Charlotte will be unable to paint everyone during the event. For those wishing to guarantee a bespoke illustration, a limited number of advance slots will be available. Guests who secure one of these will be invited to send a photograph in advance, allowing Charlotte to create the artwork ahead of time for collection at the ball.

🍽️ Supper and Refreshments

Inspired by the Regency era, enjoy a buffet prepared by Oh My Nosh Catering, accompanied by a glass of wine or soft drink, and followed by delicious desserts.

A variety of non-alcoholic drinks will also be provided to keep you refreshed throughout the evening.

(Please note: there is no bar available, but you are welcome to bring additional drinks if desired.)

🍁 Autumnal Flower Crown Workshop with Hats Period

On the same day as the ball, join a special workshop with Jane Walton of Hats Period. Create your own autumnal flower crown, ready to adorn your hair and complement your Regency outfit at the ball later that evening.
