Susie Campbell and Rose Ferraby: Poetry, Archaeology & Art workshop and walk

Join poet Susie Campbell and artist-archaeologist Rose Ferraby on a walk to explore how the past continues to shape present-day places around us. The walk will be an opportunity to respond to material traces of the past left in Launceston’s stones, its streets, and its buildings, through activities such as creative mapping, and experimental notation and scoring of the traces and echoes of what is no longer visible. Participants will have the chance to discuss ways of imagining the past and responding to its fragmentation, its uncertainties, and what surfaces from the broader landscape within the urban setting. Participants will be invited to create their own record of the walk in a working notebook which may become the inspiration for poems or other art works.
