Laxfield Parish Council invites you to attend our local screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing film, which highlights how global warming poses a threat to British life from ongoing damage to nature and to our climate. This involves showing a 40 min film, followed by open discussion on how the climate crisis impacts farmers, food supply chains and our overall health - and what actions communities can take to help.
Our local rural economy is particularly susceptible to climate change. Villages like Laxfield can play a vital role in responding to these challenges, working closely with local councils, who can have a duty to reduce emissions across housing, transport, planning and infrastructure. We can also strengthen local resilience in the face of increasing flood risk, heatwaves, food insecurity and wider systemic pressures.
The event will take place on 9 October at 6:30pm in the Village Hall. All are welcome and refreshments will be provided.
