Rescuing Warwick’s Past: The Restoration of St Michael’s Place
Society talk with David Trevis Smith | 14 October
After decades of neglect, one of Warwick’s remarkable historic sites is beginning a new chapter.
Join David Trevis Smith, Project Director at West Midlands Heritage, to discover the story behind the rescue and restoration of St Michael’s Place, the former medieval leper hospital in Saltisford. Its surviving Grade II* listed buildings—the Master’s House and St Michael’s Chapel—are being brought back to life with support from a £2.8 million National Lottery Heritage Fund grant.
Hear about the challenges of saving these fragile buildings, the work now under way and the plans to secure their future. This promises to be a fascinating insight into how a long-neglected part of Warwick’s heritage can once again serve its community.
We are delighted that members of the Warwick Society will be joining us for the evening, and look forward to welcoming you on 14 October.
