The Soroptimists are a global organisation, made up of a volunteer army of women from many different backgrounds who aim to educate, empower and enable women and girls. Leamington Spa Soroptimists invite you to an afternoon tea at Whittle's Restaurant to meet Susan Rasmussen, High Sheriff of Warwickshire, as she tells her inspirational story and gives us an insight into her life.

Tickets are £25pp plus £1 booking fee.

What does Susan do as the High Sheriff of Warwickshire?

Essentially, she gives a year of her life to the King and the community, in this most ancient of offices, swearing to support the forces of law and order and keep the King’s peace. Her role is to make society feel valued and connected by working with charities, societies and volunteer groups. This could range from a visit to the Magistrates’ Court and the Sikh community at the Gurdwara, to discussing plans for the High Sheriff’s programme and rowing on the River Avon with the Sea Scouts.

Join us to listen to Susan as she shares her story and details of her life as High Sheriff, while enjoying the delightful Whittle's afternoon tea. All proceeds from the event will go to two charities: the Myton Hospice and Down Syndrome UK's Positive about Downs Syndrome
