The Redwoods Quarterly

Fri Sep 12, 2025 12:00 PM - 3:30 PM EDT Online, Zoom

The Redwoods Quarterly is an interactive online design systems event presented by Redwoods and hosted by Lauren LoPrete and Ben Callahan.

This isn't another boring webinar. In the spirit of collaborative learning, The Redwoods Quarterly will be much more interactive. If you've attended and enjoyed The Question or Symmetry, you'll get the vibe.

The Core Sample

We'll start the day with a dive into our quarterly, industry-wide, design system pulse survey—The Core Sample. You can take the survey here! We'll synthesize the results and share those out with you on September 12.

Agenda

We're leaving a lot of room for the magic to happen, but here are some of the topics we'll be covering.

  • A deep dive on education in design system programs
  • A conversation about AI context
  • A panel on cognitive diversity in design systems
  • A session on web components for design systems
  • Some research Redwoods has been doing around organizational readiness

The sessions will be great, but the best part is that we'll get to learn from each other. You will walk away from this event feeling more connected to the design system community. The organizations we work for don't quite know how to support us, so let's support each other.

What is Redwoods?

Redwoods is a group of life-long learners committed to supporting each other on the journey of design system maturity.

We're creators, not just consumers. We're teachers, not just learners. We're here to challenge and expand each other's perspectives, and to push the design system community forward in sustainable and meaningful ways.

Redwoods is made up of system thinkers from around the world who've worked on design systems for many organizations, including Spotify, Microsoft, The New York Times, Adobe, Dropbox, Mozilla, Shopify, Atlassian, Wise, The BBC, The Government of Canada, Alaska Airlines, and a whole lot more...

We present The Redwoods Quarterly because of our shared value to be generous with our knowledge.

Learning is great, but it’s not enough. Redwoods members are creators, not just consumers—we analyze, we synthesize, and then we offer our new understanding back to the larger community.

We're smart, but we love to have fun. So come join us to dig into the challenges we're all facing. And be ready to share your perspective as well, that's what makes this community work.
