Art History with a Difference - Berthe Morisot by Tammy Ellis

Berthe Morisot (1841 – 1895) was an artist whose work was influenced by eighteenth century artists such as Jean-Honore Fragonard and Francois Boucher. However, in 1874 she found herself firmly routed in the French avant-garde when she exhibited with the impressionist group of artists. Acquainted with Manet and married to his brother Eugene. Berthe Morisot managed to achieve that rare combination of artists, wife and mother – her daughter Julie was born in 1878 and was often the subject of her work.

Held in the Abraham Dixon Hall, Friday 6th March 2pm – 4pm, with a break for refreshments approx 2.55pm. All lectures will commence at 2pm. Individual lectures £7.50 each or block book all eight for £40. Once your tickets are booked your name will be added to the door list.
