Tue 19 Mar 2024 17:30 - 19:30
Weston Room, Laidlaw Library, LS2 9JT
Description
You asked for lino printing & here it is! Join us for a free & chill student-only lino print workshop with the fabulous artist Kirstie Williams.
Explore printmaking using linocut techniques to create your very own cards and small prints on paper.
In this session you'll work with local artist and printmaker Kirstie Williams to learn some basic relief printing techniques using linocut. Kirstie is a practising printmaker working with a range of processes including linocut and screen printing. She is influenced by 1950s surface pattern, creating bold, abstract and geometric patterns.
You'll use collections and objects from our galleries and archives to inspire your own mid-century patterns and make your own edition of prints to take away.
This is a perfect introduction to lino printing techniques - no previous experience is required. All materials and reference imagery will be provided.
