Burroughs Woods & Whittington Rough Circular

Join us for a scenic countryside adventure through the beautiful trails of Burrough Woods which is part of the National Forest - a huge project to bring woodland back to the heart of England. This circular walk offers a perfect mix of woodland paths, rolling countryside, peaceful nature spots, and stunning views across the Leicestershire landscape. You will explore paths that are newly planted and beautiful mature sections of ancient woodland.

Ideal for walkers looking to enjoy fresh air, great company, and a relaxed outdoor experience, this route provides a fantastic escape into nature for both regular walkers and beginners alike. However the paths can get very muddy and good hiking boots are a must!

Footwear & Clothing

• Waterproof hiking boots are essential

• We recommend hiking boots that support the ankle, as some sections may be muddy, or slippery

• Waterproof clothing (jacket and trousers) is advised in case of rain

• Long full length dress/abaya is not recommended, for your own safety please invest in a top which is no longer than 3/4 length.

 What to Bring

• Water bottle and snacks

• Any medication you may need

• Hiking sticks (if you use them for support)

Car Sharing Information 

If you do not have access to a car, please do not book straight away.

Instead, add your name to our car share spreadsheet and check back to see if a lift becomes available. Once you’ve arranged a lift, you can return and complete your booking.
