Join our Les Enfants Terribles' creative team for a skill-builder session exploring puppetry manipulation skills for professional actors and theatre makers.
Whether you are a first-timer or have years of experience, we will play, explore and up-skill together, to ensure you’re ready for your next audition or project!
In this workshop you will:
- Learn the fundamental skills required to operate a puppet as a performer, or the language to direct performers to work with puppets on stage
- Learn how different puppet types move and breathe, exploring the mechanics and animation techniques behind them
- Get hands on with Les Enfants Terribles' own puppets, working with creations made for our professional productions
Who will be leading the workshop?
This workshop is led by Les Enfants Terribles' Founder & Creative Director, James Seager, and Head of Engagement, Sinead O’Callaghan.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is open to any actor, performer or theatre maker, of all ages, backgrounds and experiences, who wants to build their puppetry skills.
Previous workshop attendees said:
“Absolutely loved how they’re able to take a bunch of strangers and put them on the same platform in no time. It felt like we were in a kind of creative cloud where grown ups came together to play and connect with each other and the imaginative child in them.”
“It really pushed me out of my comfort zone in a very supportive environment.”

Bursary Places
We are pleased to offer a bursary place for this workshop. This spot is free and is available to anyone who would not be able to afford to attend the workshop otherwise. You can find the application form for this bursary place here.
We appreciate that there are often a lot of barriers to involvement in the arts, and we don’t want to add to those, so we will not be asking for a detailed application form. If you are in a position where you are unable to cover the workshop fee, you can put your name forward for a bursary space. Please refer to our EDI policy here for more guidance on eligibility.
Applications for Bursary spaces are due 4th October 2026 and all eligible candidates will be entered into a ballot from which one name will be drawn that day.
