Explore the core principles of puppetry with Les Enfants Terribles' creative team in this CPD specifically created for teachers who want to build their puppetry skills.

Thinking of incorporating a puppet into your school production this year and needs some tips on where to start?

Considering implementing a puppetry design unit into your KS3 curriculum?

Want to encourage your students to incorporate puppets into their devised pieces?

This CPD will equip you with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge you need to confidently bring puppets into your drama classroom or school production.

This workshop will:

  • Equip you with the theory
  • Support your practical techniques
  • Touch on both found object puppetry & puppet manipulation and animation
  • Provide you with resources to reference back to
  • Answer all your questions

Who will be leading the workshop?
This workshop is led by Les Enfants Terribles' Creative Director, James Seager, and Head of Engagement, Sinead O’Callaghan.

Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is open to any teacher or educator, of all ages, backgrounds and experiences, who wants to build their puppetry skills.

Previous workshop attendees said:

“Absolutely loved how they’re able to take a bunch of strangers and put them on the same platform in no time. It felt like we were in a kind of creative cloud where grown ups came together to play and connect with each other and the imaginative child in them.”

“It really pushed me out of my comfort zone in a very supportive environment.”

Bursary Places

We are pleased to offer a bursary place for this workshop. This spot is free and is available to anyone who would not be able to afford to attend the workshop otherwise. You can find the application form for this bursary place here. Please note that we will allocate one bursary place per individual.

We appreciate that there are often a lot of barriers to involvement in the arts, and we don’t want to add to those, so we will not be asking for a detailed application form. If you are in a position where you are unable to cover the workshop fee, you can put your name forward for a bursary space. Please refer to our EDI policy here for more guidance on eligibility.

Applications for Bursary spaces are due 4th October 2026 and all eligible candidates will be entered into a ballot from which one name will be drawn that day.

For more information about the workshop, please contact the Head of Engagement at education@lesenfantsterribles.co.uk .
