Making Immersive Theatre In Your School: Teacher CPD

Wed 17 Mar 2027 10:30 AM - 4:30 PM Old Diorama Arts Centre, NW1 3FE

Our teacher professional development workshop is designed to empower you to explore immersive theatre with your students.

Are your students begging you to do an immersive show for your next school production?

Been to see amazing immersive performances but not sure where to start with teaching this style in your classroom?

Have your A Level candidates cselected a immersive, site-specific or promenade theatre maker for their chosen practitioner?

Looking for a new and exciting style to teach in your KS3 lessons?

This CPD is for you! Join us for a day exploring immersive theatre in your school environment.

Whether you’re creating a scheme of work centered around immersive theatre skills or you’re looking to create an immersive show for your co curricular drama program, this workshop will equip you with exercises, terminology and ideas that you can use in your classroom the very next day.

This workshop will:

  • Equip you with an understanding of the theory and terminology of immersive theatre
  • Support your delivery with practical techniques and exercises you can use with your own students
  • Provide you with resources to reference back to and share with your classes
  • Answer all your questions

Who will be leading the workshop?
This workshop is led by Les Enfants Terribles' Creative Director, James Seager, and Head of Engagement, Sinead O’Callaghan.

Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is open to any teacher or educator, of all ages, backgrounds and experiences, who wants to explore immersive theatre.

Previous workshop attendees said:

“Absolutely loved how they’re able to take a bunch of strangers and put them on the same platform in no time. It felt like we were in a kind of creative cloud where grown ups came together to play and connect with each other and the imaginative child in them.”

“It really pushed me out of my comfort zone in a very supportive environment.”

Bursary Places

We are pleased to offer a bursary place for this workshop. This spot is free and is available to anyone who would not be able to afford to attend the workshop otherwise. You can find the application form for this bursary place here. Please note that this is one bursary place per individual.

We appreciate that there are often a lot of barriers to involvement in the arts, and we don’t want to add to those, so we will not be asking for a detailed application form. If you are in a position where you are unable to cover the workshop fee, you can put your name forward for a bursary space. Please refer to our EDI policy here for more guidance on eligibility.

Applications for Bursary spaces are due 10th March 2027 and all eligible candidates will be entered into a ballot from which one name will be drawn that day.

For more information about the workshop, please contact the Head of Engagement at education@lesenfantsterribles.co.uk .
