The Home Ed Creative Studio sessions will be facilitated by Laura Calvert, a Bristol-based autistic artist, mother and experienced workshop leader with a passion for creativity, inclusion, and self-expression. She has extensive experience running workshops for neurodivergent and neurotypical people of all ages.

These sessions will bring together a mixed-age group of children aged 7 years and upwards. The activities will be provided in a supportive creative environment where children, teens and young adults can explore art at their own pace. Through structured yet flexible sessions, participants will have the opportunity to build confidence, develop practical artistic skills, and connect with others through shared creative activities. The focus is on accessibility, enjoyment, and personal growth. We aim to create a space where everyone feels encouraged to experiment, express themselves, and hopefully develop a lasting engagement with each other, the arts and the Arnolfini. These activities will be artist-led, hands-on and exploratory, giving children the chance to work with a wide range of materials including printmaking, sculpture, textiles, painting, wearable art and MUCH more.

We aim to keep the group small to ensure a high-quality experience and capacity for any accompanying adults

About us ⫸
Let’s Make Art UK is a friendly, artist-led organisation based in Bristol, run by Alice Hendy and Karen Davies, Creatives in Residence at Arnolfini.

Since 2012, they’ve grown from a small community hall studio into one of the UK’s leading mobile arts providers, bringing creative experiences to children, families, and adults across the country.

Known for their playful and imaginative approach, Alice and Karen work with galleries, schools, festivals, and community organisations to deliver hands-on workshops and large-scale creative projects. Through hands-on workshops and family-friendly activities, they encourage people of all ages to explore, experiment, and express themselves, building confidence, making meaningful connections through art, and engaging with exhibitions in fun and accessible ways.

Passionate advocates for art education, they believe creativity plays a vital role in learning, wellbeing, and personal development. Alongside their workshops and events, they run after-school and home-ed art clubs, providing support and mentoring to creative facilitators. Their projects enrich learning across a wide range of subjects while nurturing creativity, curiosity, and a lifelong love of making.

Committed to inclusivity, accessibility, and sustainability, Let’s Make Art believes that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy and benefit from creativity. Their goal is simple: to make art a joyful, inspiring part of everyday life. By using art as an early form of communication, children develop skills that will enhance expression with their writing and show their ideas in a visual sense. Every week we will choose a different art activity and over the weeks we will explore a variety of materials. Activities include; wearable art, paper mâché, collage, drawing, collaborative painting, watercolour pencils, printmaking, stitching, sculpture, clay work, cyanotypes, graffiti, puppet making and more.
