“Inclusive Minds - Breaking Barriers: Celebrating Neurodiversity and LGBTQ+ Voices"
Join Let's Talk Better C.I.C for yet another inspiring and thought-provoking event that delves into neurodiversity and LGBTQ+ experiences, empowering attendees to understand themselves and support others more effectively. Through powerful and engaging discussions, we will explore identity, belonging, and the impact of external influences on our mental wellbeing.
Why This Event Matters:
From birth, we are shaped by parents, carers, schools, workplaces, and social circles. Without the right tools and awareness, many people struggle with the pressures and expectations of society, leading to isolation and vulnerability. By fostering open conversations, we can equip individuals with the understanding and support they need to thrive.
Key Topics We Will Cover:
✨ Neurodiversity – Understanding different neurodiverse conditions (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia), creating supportive environments, and sharing lived experiences.
🌈 LGBTQ+ – Exploring the intersection of LGBTQ+ identity and mental health, supporting young people navigating their identity, and fostering allyship.
💬 Identity & Self-Worth – Recognising personal values, boundaries, and the importance of self-awareness in mental wellbeing.
What to Expect:
🎤 Guest Speakers – Hear from neurodiverse individuals and LGBTQ+ speakers as they share personal journeys, challenges, and triumphs.
🗣️ The Deputy Mayor Cllr Johnathan Andrews & Deputy Mayoress Theresa Andrews, Chris Woodley - Writer & Actor, Mercedes Yearley - Drama Through Wellbeing, and Nicky Fawcitt - Tai Chi Instructor
🛠 Activities – Gain practical tools to create inclusive spaces, challenge unconscious bias, and support mental wellbeing. Enjoy a bit of Tai Chi!
🤝 Community & Networking – Connect with advocates, allies, and organisations working towards a more inclusive world.
Let’s come together to challenge stigmas and taboos, embrace diversity, and create a society where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
