Dying Well Matters - Conversations That Count
Dying Well Matters: Conversations That Count
A FREE event open to all!
This important community event is being brought to you in partnership between Bromley Friendly Dementia Community (BDFC) and Let’s Talk Better CIC (LTB), working together to bring this often-avoided but deeply important topic into the open.
“Dying Well Matters” is a space created to encourage honest, compassionate and informed conversations around death, dying, and end-of-life planning. Too often, these conversations are delayed or avoided due to fear, uncertainty, or cultural taboos. This event aims to gently break down those barriers by creating a safe, welcoming environment where people can learn, ask questions, and feel supported.
We recognise that death is a shared human experience—no matter our background, culture, faith, or tradition, it is something that touches us all. This event will also honour and explore how different cultures, religions, and belief systems approach death, dying, mourning, and remembrance. By bringing these perspectives together, we hope to deepen understanding, respect, and connection across our diverse community.
Bringing together a wide range of professionals, including solicitors, palliative care specialists, home care providers, funeral services, and keynote speakers, the event offers both practical guidance and emotional support. It will help individuals and families better understand their options, plan ahead with confidence, and feel more prepared for conversations that truly matter.
At the heart of this event is the belief that living well and dying well are deeply connected. Just as we invest in our wellbeing throughout life, we must also give space to planning for end-of-life with dignity, clarity, and peace of mind. This is not about fear; it is about empowerment, compassion, and respect.
By coming together as a community, we can shift the narrative. We can replace silence with understanding, and anxiety with knowledge. Most importantly, we can ensure that people feel supported not only in how they live, but also in how they are cared for and remembered.
Together, BDFC and LTB are proud to be leading this vital conversation, bringing awareness, breaking stigma, and helping our community recognise that talking about death is part of living well.
We look forward to welcoming you on the day!
