LOL Writing Club

Writing Club is a relaxed, welcoming space for anyone who wants to spend a couple of hours writing in good company - whether you’re a regular writer, just getting started, or simply curious.

The sessions are led by Kate Ireland, a poet and performer who helps run Blether, our regular evening of literary mayhem, and whose workshops focus on confidence, playfulness and finding your voice. Each session includes gentle writing prompts, quiet time to write, and the option to share work at the end (sharing is always optional - listening is just as welcome).

The emphasis is on exploration rather than perfection: a space to try things out, build momentum and enjoy writing for its own sake.

Writing Club is part of our Art Club programme, which creates low-pressure creative spaces for adults in Levenshulme. Many people come along on their own, some attend regularly, others drop in when they can - everyone is welcome.

• Bring a pen and a notebook (or your laptop if you prefer)
• No experience necessary
• Free / pay-what-you-can
