FAQ

Is this really safe? 

Yes! We plunge under the watchful and professional eye of the William Cameron Engine Company, and in over twenty years of plunging we've had no serious accidents. If anything should happen, EMTs are on hand. We take pride in our excellent safety record and strive to make the plunge safer every year!

Do I have to register to plunge? 

Yes. All plungers must register, either online before the plunge ($10) or at the registration table the day of the plunge ($15). There is no charge to watch, though, and we have plenty of room for spectators!

I'm a kid. Can I plunge?

Yes! If you're under sixteen, you'll have to be accompanied by an adult.

How do group plunge tickets work?

We offer three tiers for groups: up to 10 for $50; up to 20 for $140; and up to 40 for $240. Group tickets are available only online and in advance. We ask groups to send us their number and names so that we can prepare a packet with wristbands and waivers for them at the event.

Does the ticket to the Pre-Plunge Party include a ticket to plunge?

No, it does not. If you want to attend the pre-plunge party and plunge, you will have to purchase a ticket for each.

What should I wear?

Festive attire is encouraged, including and not limited to costumes, formal wear, and sartorial wackiness of all stripes! Shoes (not flip-flops) are a good idea.

Is there a place I can change?

Yes, we have individual changing tents if you'd like to change your clothes at the event site.

What if the Plunge is cancelled?

The plunge is cancelled only in extraordinary circumstances. In the event the river is too fast, or too high, we plunge into a giant pool pumped full of ice cold river water by William Cameron Engine Company.

Unfortunately, it is not.
