Raï Rhythm - Vol 1. - ZMAGRYA

Native to Algerian-Orani origins, Raï is a famous Algerian genre of music that uniquely blends Algerian traditional folkore music with Western influences such as funk, disco, rock and more.

ZMAGRYA, as an artistic space, is inspired by the fusion and legacy of Raï music. To honour this legacy we curated a Raï Rhythm event series meant to honour Raï its variations, legacy, and inspirations.

Raï Rhythm Vol 1. will be a blend of original Raï music throughout its growth. From classical Raï to contemporary wayway music, we've brought you fusions of Raï classics with HOUSE, CHAABI, POP, and more.

On June 20th we’ll be honouring Rai through a live Rai performance, Rai inspired DJ sets and more live fusion performances.

We'll be joined by ABDEL KADIRI and RASHEED for a live Rai performance.  

DJ Snarz, MANALOU, and DJ Samir will be blending Rai with HOUSE, ARAB POP, CHAABI, RAI'n'B, HIPHOP and more.
