About the event

Thamesmead Shantay returns on Saturday 14 June with our Pride Ball! 🌈

Join us for our biggest, brightest and boldest night yet to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride, featuring drag performances, games, a raffle, and the chance to win a costume prize if you choose to come in Pride-themed drag or fancy dress!

We're celebrating queer hometown pride with a line-up of phenomenal performers who are all local to Thamesmead, including:

• Alma Groin (@alma_groin) in our headline slot
• Chapelle Groan (@chapelle_groan) in our slot reserved for first-time, new and emerging artists
• our hostess with the mostest, Letti O'Burn (@lettioburn)

Once all the fun is done, the dancefloor will open up for everyone to enjoy until the end of the night!

This event is for adults over the age of 18 only.

Thamesmead Shantay is a volunteer-organised community drag event by LGBT+ Thamesmead. Every penny raised from our raffles and your generous donations helps us continue to organise community events and activities, create safe spaces, provide a local support network for LGBTQIA+ residents and families in Thamesmead and the surrounding area, and support our local LGBTQIA+ entertainers to earn a living wage.

This event is supported by funding from The London Community Foundation.

Event timings

Doors open at 7pm. Performances will begin at 8pm, and the dancefloor opens to all at around 9:30pm.

Prices

Tickets: £9 per person
Concessions: £7 per person - for students with a valid student ID, people aged 65+ and guests with disabilities

LGBT+ Thamesmead members should use their membership card number or group discount code at checkout for reduced entry.

Guest list reservations

We strongly encourage you to buy your tickets before the event to guarantee entry. However, if you're unable to buy your tickets in advance for any reason, contact team@lgbtthamesmead.co.uk to add your name to the guest list. You can then pay your entry by card or cash on the door.

Getting here

Sporting Club Thamesmead is a 10-minute journey by bus from Abbey Wood Elizabeth Line and railway station. The venue is a very short walk from bus stops served by routes 177, 229, 401 and 472. A large car park is also available.

On arrival at Sporting Club Thamesmead, enter through the automatic double doors and take the stairs or lift up to the bar.
