Lichfield Gospel Choir Community Workshop

Join Lichfield Gospel Choir's musical directors, Themba Mvula and Gabriella Liandu, for a 3 hour workshop to find out what it's like to sing with the choir! We're inviting all sopranos and altos currently on the waiting list and anyone else from our wider community who would like to take part. This workshop is for adults only.

To make the workshop accessible to as many people as possible, tickets are offered at either £10 or £5 under a 'pay what you can' model. Please choose the option most suitable for you - the workshop experience will be exactly the same!

We perform a very wide range of music under the gospel banner. Our repertoire spans from the genre’s roots—traditional music from across the African continent, spirituals, and the blues—to modern gospel and the many styles it has inspired. In keeping with the oral tradition, everything is taught by ear, and the focus is on expression rather than strict accuracy. It’s an incredibly intuitive and rewarding way to learn, and you’ll be amazed at how much music you can retain this way!
