Helper Ensemble presents: The Belly of Leonardo
The Helper Ensemble Presents: Belly of Leonardo.
On Sunday, June 28, in NDSM, helper ensemble will present its first public performance: Belly of Leonardo, a sensorium of sound, light, movement, and telluric motion. The performance will run two hours within the empty hull of an old Dutch barge.
No windows, red walls, filled with drums and string
The steel hull will resonate as it rocks, swaying the largest installation of Leander’s helper Yaybahar to date. Benton will form a synthesizer ground, the Leander will paint the scape, and Lieke’s flute and voice will soar atop. Matis will bring his own yaybahar invention, and the two yaybahars will duel acoustic. The performance will start at sundown, and end in night.
