Are you interested in becoming a disabled content creator?
Not every disabled person wants to share their lived experiences and you don’t owe your story to anybody, but if you’d like to share your disability story online or learn more about content creation, this session is for you.
Led by disabled writer, blogger, and communication consultant Pippa Stacey, this virtual session will share tips and advice on how to use popular online platforms to communicate your thoughts, connect with others, and make an impact... all in a way that feels accessible and authentic to you. This introductory session will cover:
- The benefits of using blogging and social media to share your lived experiences
- How to identify compelling topics and themes
- Accessible tips for writing and content creation
- Quick and easy ways to help more people find your writing
- Social media hacks and etiquette to reach a bigger audience
The session will be followed by a Q&A, where you can find out more about any of the topics discussed, network with other content creators, or seek feedback on any of your own creative ideas.
This event will take place remotely on Zoom, with live captions available and a BSL interpreter present. The session will also be recorded for anybody who has to pace their attendance or can't make the live event. If you have any further access needs, please contact disability@yorkhumanrights.org.
We look forward to seeing you there!
