Big Feelings, Small Planet: Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet

Fri Nov 6, 2026 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM Sons and Daughters Bookstore, 90046

A gathering to discuss climate emotions.

This 90-minute event is part climate café, part book club, all conversation.

Like a climate café, we'll discuss feelings and responses to climate issues, not debate science or specific policies. There is no intended "outcome," just a space to gather.

Like a book club, our conversation will circle a shared text. This month, our conversation will center Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet by Thich Nhat Hanh and Sister True Dedication.

Didn't read? Everyone will receive excerpts with enough info to participate.

Friday, November 6 6:30–8:00 PM

$10 suggested donation (No one turned away for lack of funds)

Facilitated by Dr. Logan Juliano, relational and game designer + lecturer in UCLA’s Writing Programs.
