What: A summer Sunday soiree of style & celebration. A pop-up style trunk show featuring a curated marketplace of local artists/designers/brands with an emphasis on queer/BIPOC/woman-owned/sustainable makers - all set to a backdrop of vibey bright & colorful music, a drag duo dance show, dancing & refreshments.

Intention:

Lightning Society is a place for self-expression in all its forms. As our city and our lives begin to rebloom, we find ourselves once again starting to spend our money more seriously on our sense of personal style and self-expression. We want to make a call to ourselves and our community to joyfully move away from fast-fashion purchases & to put that money directly into the pockets of artists & makers who are doing the work to not just create vibrant beautiful designs, but who strive to do business in an equitable and sustainable way. After an intense year of being called time and time again to be better allies, we want to be able to use our platform to support the work of queer/BIPOC/women who are making magic. This event seeks to be proof of concept for a continued series of pop-ups (1-2/month) and ultimately the goal is to have a beautiful afternoon & create a continued conversation about style & sustainability.
