Description

Light the Lakes 2018

On 28th April 2012 some 594 police officers, colleagues and friends climbed Wainwright peaks in the Lake District to raise money to support police survivors.

Following what has been another devastating few years for the police family, Light the Lakes have decided to continue this event in aid of COPS, (Care of Police Survivors).

The idea is that teams will climb all 214 Wainwright fells to light lamps in honour of our fallen colleagues

Care of Police Survivors (COPS) is a UK registered charity dedicated to helping the families of police officers, who have lost their lives whilst on duty, to rebuild their lives. It aims to ensure that surviving family members have all the help they need to cope with such a tragedy and that they remain part of the police family.

COPS aims to build a network of survivors throughout the UK. The extent of help provided will be controlled by the new survivor. Sometimes an understanding listener is needed. Sometimes more practical help is required. Whatever the need, COPS will be able to put survivors in touch with those who truly understand.
